Astrophotography by Philippe Gilberton

Observation equipment

Celestron telescope Edge HD of 8 inches diameter , this is the Fastar model launched on 2009 and still manufactured. This is an astrograph which means that the coma and chroma aberration are corrected. I purchased a used one on 2022 in pretty good shape. It is equipped of a focal reducer of 0.7. What is surrounding the telescope is a dew  heater resistor specially self regulated for low temperature(12°C) and pretty easy to plug directly on AC power without the usage of AC/DC converter.

Celestron telescope of 8 inches diameter , this is the Celestar model manufactured until 1995. Anecdotally I bought this used model in the United State when I worked up there. I had also the tripod with the R.A. motor but I don’t use it anymore. On the left picture it can be noticed the Celestron focus reducer of 0.63 factor with an additional extension tube. What is surrounding the telescope is a dew  heater resistor specially self regulated for low temperature(12°C) and pretty easy to plug directly on AC power without the usage of AC/DC converter.  I sold it with some nostalgia on 2022 to an astrophotographer who was very happy to add it to his Celestron’s collection.

refractor

Modified Teleskop Services Optics TS 80/544 mm apochromatic refractor. What surrounds the refractor tube is a self regulated dew heater (around 12°C) and it can be plugged directly to the AC power without usage of an AC/DC transformer. The 2 guide rings are used to fix the Canon 70-200 f / 2.8 II IS L USM zoom.
